TOUR THE FACILITY
Tour our main building, where staff members will be on hand to discuss their research and answer your questions. Our laboratories will be open, and displays will demonstrate some of the cutting-edge research going on at FWRI. Outside, discover more hands-on displays, including touch tanks teeming with marine life.
LISTEN TO PRESENTATIONS FOR ALL AGES
Presenters in our auditorium will discuss current research on Florida's fish and wildlife species and their habitats. Topics at the 2012 event included tarpon, carnivorous plants, manatees, alligators, right whales and sharks and rays.
A DAY OF FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
MarineQuest offers events for all ages, including hands-on activities that will help younger visitors learn about the fascinating marine life in our oceans. Kids can even touch sharks and rays, horseshoe crabs, sea stars, spiny lobsters, and other marine critters commonly found in Florida's waters. Through the age-old Japanese practice of "gyotaku," or fish printing, they can create their own artwork. Kids can also have their faces painted, learn how to make marine-related origami such as fish and whales, put together a manatee skeleton, and do much more!
VISIT AND SPEAK WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
In addition to the lab displays and interactive stations, representatives from local and national conservation and science organizations will be available to visit with you and offer information.
