Chinsegut Nature
Center has interpretive displays, restrooms, a wildlife viewing
blind, and picnic facilities.
An interpretive kiosk is located on the Big Pine Tract.
Chinsegut Nature Center is open all year by appointment(352-754-6722)
for guided natural history tours. Additionally the nature center is open
on Friday and Saturday from 8 am – 2 pm to the general public with
volunteer staff in attendance. Restrooms and picnic tables are available
for groups. The Big Pine Tract is open year-round for self-guided hikes.
There is a new Prairie to Pines Trailhead, located at the junction of US
41 and Snow Memorial Road, which is open during daylight hours, 7 days a
week.

Nature Center
is 7 miles north of Brooksville. Take US Hwy 41 to CR 476. Turn west
(left) on CR 476 to entrance on the left. Big Pine Tract is off of US
Hwy 41 on Old Crystal River Road

Withlacoochee State Forest: hiking, camping (RV and tent), 46-mile
paved bicycling trail, canoeing, horseback riding, and hunting, restroom,
and bathhouses. The Nature Conservancy also owns lands adjacent to Chinsegut.
Chinsegut Hill Conference and Retreat Center operated by the University
of South Florida Foundation offers a secluded setting for professional
conferences and events.
Crystal River (34 miles northwest), Homosassa Springs (27 miles northwest),
and Brooksville (7 miles south).
