Fees

No Daily-Use Permit currently required. To hunt or fish you must possess the appropriate license and permit.

Facilities

Boat ramps, picnic, and toilet facilities at Goose Pasture and the headwaters of the Wacissa. Boat access and picnic facilities also available at Welaunee Landing.  Picnic facilities available at Western Sloughs.

Vehicle use regulations.

Location

Jefferson and Taylor counties; main entrance is at Western Sloughs about 3.5 miles east of junction of highways 59 and 98; hiker access off Goose Pasture Road about 1 mile west of Powell Hammock Grade and at the small game hunt area south of 98 about 4 miles east of highway 98 and 59 junction; boater access at the headsprings of the Wacissa and at Goose Pasture.

Nearest Cities/Towns

Tallahassee is 15 miles northwest of the Wacissa headwaters at the north end of the WMA.  From the Western Sloughs entrance, Perry is 27 miles east, and Wakulla is 15 miles west.
