Fees

Unless you have a Wildlife Management Area Permit, it costs $3.00 to enter at the dam when the area is closed to hunting and scouting. Six mile boat ramp and Roscoe entrances are free. To hunt or fish you must possess the appropriate license and permit.

Public Access

Public access to the upland area is restricted to walk-in only from the Guana Dam and the Roscoe Boulevard Extension entrances during periods when the area is closed for hunting and scouting. The Roscoe Boulevard Extension entrance is open from sunrise to sunset. Lake Ponte Vedra is open for recreational use from Guana Dam to a line 2 miles north of the dam at all times, and on the remainder of Lake Ponte Vedra and the interior lakes from February 10 through November 10.

Vehicle use regulations:

  • Vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads
  • No motor vehicle shall be operated on any part of any wildlife and environmental area designated and posted as "CLOSED" because of inclement weather, poor road conditions, construction, management activities, or wildlife surveys.
  • No person shall park any vehicle in a manner that obstructs a road, gate, or firelane.
  • Use of tracked vehicles, motorcycles or ATVs is prohibited.

 

Location

St. Johns County between Jacksonville and St. Augustine; from I-95 take exit 311 (SR 207) north to US Hwy 1. From Hwy 1, take A1A north about 8 miles to the entrance on left.
