Fees

A Daily-Use Permit is not currently required. Hunters must possess a quota hunt permit (except during small game season), hunting license and Wildlife Management Area Permit.

Facilities

Check station (operated seasonally); camping is permitted year-round at designated campsites only.

Public Access

The area is open to public access all day, every day. Vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads year-round and shall enter and exit only at designated entrances. Individuals possessing a valid quota hunt permit may operate vehicles on named and numbered trails during designated hunts. Swamp buggies and all-terrain vehicles may be operated during the archery, muzzleloading gun and general gun seasons by individuals possessing a valid quota hunt permit. Portions of the area are leased for cattle grazing; gates and fences accommodate the needs of the contractor. When access requires it, visitors may enter and exit through gates along the main access road, but gates should be left as found.

Vehicle use regulations

  • Vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads. During the archery, muzzleloading gun and general gun-walk seasons vehicles may also be operated on named and numbered trails by individuals possessing a valid quota hunt permit.
  • No person shall park any vehicle in a manner that obstructs a road, gate, or firelane.
  • Use of tracked vehicles, swamp buggiees, airboats, all-terrain vehicles or unlicensed and unregistered motorcycles is prohibited, except that swamp buggies and all-terrain vehicles may be operated during the archery, muzzleloading gun and general gun-walk seasons by individuals possessing a valid quota hunt permit.
  • Florida traffic laws relating to vehicles and vehicle operators apply on this area.  The operation of an unregistered and unlicensed vehicle is prohibited.
  • Horses are prohibited during archery, muzzleloading gun, general gun, family hunts, and spring turkey seasons.  During the remainder of the year, horses are permitted only on named or numbered roads and named or numbered trails.

Location

Located in Hendry County, about 23 miles east of Immokalee; 29 miles southwest of Clewiston. From Immokalee, head east on C.R. 846 for 19 miles to intersection with C.R. 833. Turn left (north) and go 4 miles to gated entrance on left. From Clewiston, travel west on U.S. 27/S.R. 80 for 8.5 miles to blinking light and turn left onto S.R. 80. Travel west for approximately 3 miles to C.R. 833. Turn left and travel south for 17.5 miles to gated entrance on right.
