Fees

A Daily-Use Permit is required to enter this area, unless you have purchased a Wildlife Management Area Permit. To hunt or fish you must also possess the appropriate license and permit.

Facilities

Three boat ramps and 5 picnic shelters are located along Webb Lake; 3 other picnic shelters, a campground and shooting range are also located on recreation area; stables, clubhouse, barn, and restroom facilities on field trial area. The Babcock-Webb Recreation Guide is a useful resource when visiting this area.

Public Access

During hunting seasons, vehicles are allowed throughout the area in accordance with the vehicle use regulations.

Vehicle use regulations

  • Vehicles are prohibited in the designated walk-in areas
  • Vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads except during the general gun and small game seasons or when training bird dogs without guns in the recreation area during the bird dog training season. On the Yucca Pens Unit, vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads.
  • No motor vehicle shall be operated on any part of any wildlife and environmental area designated and posted as "CLOSED" because of inclement weather, poor road conditions, construction, management activities, or wildlife surveys.
  • No person shall park any vehicle in a manner that obstructs a road, gate, or firelane.
  • Use of motorcycles or ATVs is prohibited.
  • Vehicular access for scouting is permitted one week prior to the archery season on named and numbered roads.

At other time vehicles may only be operated within the recreation area of Babcock-Webb and on named and numbered roads on the Yucca Pens Unit. Non-vehicular recreation activities are available throughout the property.

Charlotte County near Punta Gorda and Ft. Myers. From I-75, take exit 158 east 1/4 mile to the entrance; Yucca Pens Unit : From I-75, take exit 158 west to US 41 south 7 mile to Zemel Road, turn west 2.5 miles to the entrance.
