Description:
Pine flatwoods, sandhills, hardwood hammock, cypress and river swamp, and freshwater marshes are only a few of the dozen plant communities that occur on this site. The park is bounded on the northwest and south by the Pithlachascottee and Anclote rivers. There is a 1.3-mile self-guided trail, eight miles of horse trails, thirteen miles of hiking trails, and a three mile bike path.
Watchable wildlife:
Wild turkey, white-tailed deer, gopher tortoises, eastern bluebirds, brown-headed nuthatches, Bachman's sparrows, fox squirrels, and sandhill cranes are common. Nearly 150 species of birds have been identified in the park to date.

Directions:
From U.S. Highway 19 in New Port Richey, drive east on Florida Highway 54 for 5 miles to County Road 1 (Little Road). Drive 1 mile north on County 1 to River Crossing Boulevard. Turn right (east), then drive 1.8 miles to park entrance.
