Great Florida Birding Trail site Description:
This area is comprised of a mosaic of marshes, lakes, and cypress swamps that form the most pristine portion of the Upper St. Johns River Basin. Visitors can hike on the levee or explore the wetlands by boat.
Watchable wildlife:
This area supports several wading bird rookeries, as well as endangered snail kites and wood storks. Herons include great blue, little blue, tricolored, and green. There are also great and snowy egrets, as well as white and glossy ibis, limpkins, anhingas, American coots, common moorhens, red-winged blackbirds, and boat-tailed grackles.

From Vero Beach, take Florida Highway 60 14 miles west. Turn north on County Road 512 and drive 2 miles to the entrance.
