FWC begins removal of tree stands within three wildlife management area

In January the FWC will begin the process of removing abandoned tree stands within the Everglades and Francis S. Taylor, Rotenberger and Holey Land WMAs.  

Road Closures on Box-R WMA

January 05, 2016 

The closure includes all of Sneads Hammock Road, Deep Slough Road, Buzzard Bay Road, West Boundary Road, and the portion of Huckleberry Lane from the Box-R Cottage driveway north to the Jackson River.  

FWC seeks information regarding stolen buck in Leon County

December 23, 2015 

The eight-point buck was stolen out of the back of a hunter’s truck in Tallahassee on Dec. 20 in the parking lot of Outback Steakhouse between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. while he was away from his vehicle. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the FWC Wildlife Alert Hotline at (888) 404-3922.
