A 10-year plan for the management of Split Oak Forest WEA will be presented at a public hearing in Osceola County on Thursday, July 14. People are invited to the 7 p.m. hearing in the Osceola County Commission Chambers.

FWC staff will present the draft land management plan for the FWC-managed WEA, and people will be encouraged to comment and ask questions at the 7 p.m. hearing on June 28 at The Lake House in Spring Hill.  

FWC to meet June 22-23 in the Apalachicola area

The FWC will meet June 22-23 at the Franklin County School Gymnasium in Eastpoint. The meeting both days starts at 8:30 a.m. Both sessions are open to the public and the public will be provided opportunities to speak.  

FWC concludes bear management webinars

Volunteers needed for Project Spring Clean at the Ocala Wildlife Management Area

The FWC is seeking volunteers for a cleanup event on Saturday, April 23, the day after Earth Day. This cleanup is an effort to conserve the Ocala Wildlife Management Area habitat and keep it beautiful for public use.

Be a citizen-scientist: Help FWC monitor horseshoe crabs spawning on beaches

March 08, 2016 

Beachgoers lucky enough to spot horseshoe crabs are asked to note how many they see and whether the horseshoe crabs are mating. In addition, biologists ask observers to provide the date, time, location, habitat type and environmental conditions – such as tides and moon phase – when a sighting occurs.
