Update 3: Unified Command begins removal process for vessels displaced by Hurricane Irma

The Emergency Support Function 10 Florida, a Unified Command, has initiated removal efforts prioritizing vessels displaced by Hurricane Irma which are actively polluting or creating a hazard to navigation to traffic in the area.  

Additional weekend added to Gulf gray triggerfish fall state season due to Hurricane Irma

September 29, 2017 

Gray triggerfish will open in Gulf of Mexico state waters for recreational harvest Oct. 21 and 22, in addition to previously scheduled dates of Oct. 7 and 8, and Oct. 14 and 15.

The Emergency Support Function 10 (ESF 10) Florida, consisting of multiple state and federal agencies, is continuing efforts to assess and remove hazards in the wake of Hurricane Irma. 

FWC: Bears become more active in fall

To be ready for leaner winter months, bears require around 20,000 calories a day and will eat anything that’s convenient. Accessing unsecured garbage often provides more calories in a shorter amount of time than foraging in the woods.
