Snook to reopen in Gulf waters

The recreational harvest season for snook reopens March 1 and remains open through April 30 in Florida’s Gulf of Mexico state and adjacent federal waters, including Everglades National Park and Monroe County.  

Florida panther population estimate updated

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the FWC have updated the estimated number of endangered Florida panthers to 120 to 230 adult and subadult Florida panthers, according to a February 2017 report from the agencies. 

Free Kids’ Fishing Clinic in Naples promises day of learning and fun

February 22, 2017 

The FWC will offer a free Kids’ Fishing Clinic on March 11 for children between the ages of 5 and 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Naples Pier.
