Eagle Lake and Lang Lake Fish Management Areas at PotashCorp-White Springs will be temporarily closed April 14 because of low water levels.

According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) freshwater fish biologists, PotashCorp-White Springs officials have requested that both FMAs be closed because the low water levels can cause navigation difficulties and disturbance to the vegetation in shallow areas when the lakes are fished.

“Until the water levels come up, the lakes will be closed to the public,” said FWC biologist Allen Martin. “We will keep the public posted as to when the lakes will reopen.”
