Free fishing derby for youth at Tenoroc Fish Management Area

The FWC is sponsoring a free youth freshwater fishing derby at Tenoroc Fish Management Area and Youth Conservation Center in Lakeland on April 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. No fishing license is required on this particular weekend but preregistration is required for the derby. 

4 Florida counties open April 1 to gag grouper recreational harvest

March 25, 2016 

State waters off the coast of Franklin, Wakulla, Jefferson and Taylor counties will open to recreational harvest of gag grouper starting April 1. This regional season will remain open through June 30, with the first day of the closure being July 1.  

Hunter safety courses offered in April

Those interested in attending a course can register online and obtain information about future hunter safety classes at MyFWC.com/HunterSafety or by calling the FWC’s regional office in Panama City at 850-265-3676.
