FWC invites communities to submit proposals for $825,000 in bear-conflict reduction funding

The FWC invites counties and other local governments to submit proposals so the agency can effectively distribute state funding for reducing bear conflicts in Florida communities.  

Time’s almost up to qualify for an extra spiny lobster via the Lionfish Challenge

Fifty lionfish: That is all it takes to qualify for the Lionfish Challenge. And if you get your 50 now, you will receive a commemorative coin marking your membership and allowing you to take one extra spiny lobster per day during the two-day sport season July 27-28.  

FWC July 19 workshop in Citrus County gives local governments ways to conserve gopher tortoises

The goal of these workshops is to identify ways cities and counties can participate in protecting one of Florida’s threatened species. In addition, the FWC will discuss financial incentives available for local governments.
