Sea turtles have been on Earth for about 110 million years, and eager photographers are hardly a new phenomenon. However, today’s widespread use of cell phones and flash photos on the beach creates a risk for Florida’s nesting and hatchling sea turtles.  

Get ready for Florida’s spring turkey season with this advice

For adults, the highly anticipated spring turkey season comes in first south of State Road 70 and runs from March 5 to April 10. In the rest of the state (except for Holmes County), it runs from March 19 to April 24. In Holmes County, the season is March 19 to April 3. 

Free Women’s Saltwater Fishing Clinics coming up in Melbourne, Fort Pierce

The free, day-long clinics are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park, 905 Shorewinds Dr., Fort Pierce, on March 11 and at Sebastian Inlet State Park, 9700 S. State Highway A1A, Melbourne Beach on March 12.
