Santa Fe idle-speed, no-wake Zone 8 deactivates

February 26, 2016 

This area of the river becomes an idle-speed, no-wake zone when the Santa Fe River reaches 17 feet as indicated on the Three Rivers gauge, where flood stage is 19 feet. That went into effect Feb. 13. The levels dropped below 17 feet Feb. 24.  

Restoration project prompts temporary closure in portions of CREW Wildlife, Environmental Area

The FWC will temporarily close portions of the CREW Wildlife and Environmental Area located in Lee and Collier counties. A restoration project in the WEA has resulted in this action. The project will commence Feb. 29 for an anticipated period of 18 months. 

FWC requests public input on updating Collier County manatee zones

February 26, 2016 

The FWC is working with Collier County and other local governments to determine whether updates are needed to manatee zones that were last reviewed and amended in 1997. The public meeting offers an opportunity for people to ask questions and provide information to FWC staff.
