Bay scallop season in St. Joseph Bay opens Aug. 22 with bag limit changes

Bay scallop season will open for harvest in the St. Joseph Bay area Aug. 22 and will remain open through Sept. 5, 2016. During this shortened season, the daily bag limit will be 40 scallops per person or 200 per vessel, whichever is less.

FWC Facts:
Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 operating a vessel powered by 10 hp or more must pass an approved boater safety course and carry a photo ID & FWC-issued boating safety card.
