National effort to establish new conservation funding underway

At its April meeting, the FWC discussed a national effort to establish new funding - The Blue Ribbon Panel on Sustaining America’s Diverse Fish and Wildlife Resources - that will ensure all wildlife is conserved for future generations.  

“Spring Aboard” for better boating

During the week of April 17-23, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and the FWC encourage boaters to “Spring Aboard” by enrolling in a boating education course.  

Free Women’s Saltwater Fishing Clinic with kayaking coming up in Apollo Beach

The FWC is hosting a Women’s Saltwater Fishing Clinic in Apollo Beach on May 7. The free, day-long clinic is from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Suncoast Youth Conservation Center. 

Santa Fe River’s idle-speed, no-wake Zone 7 deactivated;

April 18, 2016 

The Santa Fe River’s idle-speed, no-wake Zone 7 was deactivated Sunday. Zone 8 is the only zone still activated at the present time, according to FWC officials.

No one may ski or aquaplane from 1/2 hour past sunset through 1/2 hour before sunrise.
