Conservation-based oyster harvest changes to continue through summer season in Apalachicola Bay

Many of the changes implemented last fall for the winter harvest season (Sept. 1-May 31) will continue during the summer season (June 1-Aug. 31) in Apalachicola Bay, including all waters of Indian Lagoon in Gulf County. 

Free hunter safety Internet-completion course offered in Washington County

The course takes place at Hard Labor Creek Shooting Sports, 2131 Clayton Road, Chipley. Instruction is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT, June 6. 

Lake Istokpoga hydrilla treatment rescheduled to June 2

Due to high wind conditions, the FWC has rescheduled this week’s hydrilla treatment in Lake Istokpoga’s north cove to June 2.

Male Florida panthers can weigh as much as 150 pounds, but average 120 to 130 pounds. Females average 70 to 75 pounds.
