Near-world-record Suwannee bass live-released at Bass Pro Shops, Tallahassee

Ferrol “Roscoe” Holley from Telogia caught the 3.75 pound, 16.5 inches long Suwannee bass while fishing on the Ochlockonee River.

Lake Istokpoga aquatic plant management meeting Aug. 25

The agenda includes world-renowned aquatic plants expert Dr. William Haller, director of the University of Florida/IFAS Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants as well as discussions regarding FWC aquatic habitat restoration and enhancement projects, plans for upcoming hydrilla treatment areas and an update of ongoing maintenance work around the lake.

The FWC’s Invasive Plant Management Section will treat a total of 62 acres of hydrilla along the shoreline of the lake on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
