Florida anglers, boaters asked to select ‘Top 100 Family Fishing and Boating Spots’

Following the success of its first year, the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s Take Me Fishing™ campaign is asking boaters and anglers to cast their votes in its 2015 America's Top Family Fishing and Boating Spots Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes features several fishing sites in Florida and aims to increase awareness of great family-friendly parks across the country to get more families out on the water fishing and boating. 

FWC to meet April 14-16 in Tallahassee

The FWC will meet April 14-16 in Tallahassee at Florida A&M University’s Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center. Tuesday's session starts at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday's and Thursday's sessions start at 8:30 a.m. The public is invited and will be provided opportunities to speak during these two days.  

Exotic Pet Amnesty Day set for April 11 in Melbourne

An Exotic Pet Amnesty Day for Brevard County will be held April 11 at Wickham Park Pavilion. The public is invited to surrender any exotic animals they have been keeping as pets – no penalties and no questions asked.

Black bears are called omnivores because they eat both plant and animal matter. A bear's diet consists of approximately 80 percent plant and 20 percent animal matter.
