The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will hold a public hearing in Hernando County on Oct. 30 to present the draft 10-year land-management plan for Chinsegut Wildlife and Environmental Area (WEA).

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Kennedy Multipurpose Room, 1000 Kennedy Blvd. in Brooksville.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on the draft 10-year plan for Chinsegut WEA in Hernando County. Presentation of the draft plan will precede a question-and-answer session and public testimony.

“This hearing is not designed to discuss hunting or fishing regulations,” said Rebecca Shelton, Biological Scientist III. “The draft plan for Chinsegut WEA is the only item on the agenda.”

A management prospectus for Chinsegut WEA is available upon request from the FWC’s Land Conservation and Planning group. Call Rebecca Shelton at 850-487-9982, or David Alden at 850-487-9588, or email Rebecca.Shelton@MyFWC.com for the prospectus.
