Oiled wildlife retrievals in Northwest Florida continue to decline - so much so that special teams to retrieve and transport visibly oiled wildlife are no longer needed in Florida. 

Atlantic snook harvest season opens Sept. 17; other areas remain catch-and-release

The recreational harvest season for snook will be open from Sept. 17 to Dec. 15 in Florida's Atlantic state and federal waters, including Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River. Catch-and-release-only fishing for snook still is legal in all other areas.
