General Information:
The permit you receive from this site can be used only in Florida to control
mallard ducks between May 1 and August 31 of each year. Mallard eggs and nests
may be controlled throughout the term of the permit April 1 - March 31).
Only one individual possessing a valid Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Mallard
Control Permit is required to be on-site during capture and control efforts.
(For example, in a situation where a
landowner hires an animal control business to remove mallards, either
the landowner or an individual with the animal control business
must possess a valid permit and be on site; both parties do not need permits.
However, the birds and/or eggs must remain in the possession
of the permit-holder until such time as they have been properly disposed.)
Business owners:
Permits are issued to individuals. Employees may operate under a business owners’ permit provided
that the business owner is on-site during any mallard control efforts.
However, the birds and/or eggs must remain in the possession of the permit-holder until such time as they have been properly disposed.
Alternatively, employees may obtain their own permit and conduct control activities
without the business owner on-site. All permits are issued free of charge.
Only one individual possessing a valid Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission Mallard Control Permit is required to be on-site during capture
and control efforts.

are provided and data must be reported by April 30 of the current permit year even if no control activity was conducted. In cases where
