Learning & Fun

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is committed to introducing teachers, youth, adults and families to exciting ways they can learn more about our diverse fish and wildlife resources. But, it's not just about learning, it's about getting outside and having fun too.

We believe that current and future generations of Floridians are more likely to aid in the protection and enhancement of these resources if they understand and appreciate them, and that children and adults who spend time recreating in the outdoors learn to love and better understand Florida's unique and varied environment.

Through education or recreation experiences people can become more interested in knowing the role they play in conserving and enhancing our resources. With that knowledge, they may become better stewards of the land and our fish and wildlife resources, making more informed choices about their daily activities that affect these resources and helping to influence others to cherish and enhance our natural heritage.

All of our resources and materials are specifically designed to aid in learning about Florida fish, wildlife and habitat. Many programs teach skills for nature-based recreational activities that get you outside having fun.

The Educators section has many programs designed to enhance learning about fish and wildlife in the classroom or home school environment.

Youth and Student Activities offers information about careers, internships and summer programs.

Outdoor Skills opens up a world of ways to get out and enjoy Florida's fish and wildlife.

Adults and Families provides exciting options for exploring nature in your backyard, on the water or in the woods.

And for those days when coloring, making a bear mask or learning the ABC's of Florida's Wildlife are just what you or your children need then explore some of our Fun Stuff.
