About Imperiled Species Management
Imperiled Species Management section is responsible for
the implementation and evaluation of imperiled species management and
recovery plans.
Species included in the section are:
Major responsibilities include:
Implementation of federal endangered species recovery plan tasks
Development of proposed rules and regulations to safeguard critical
habitats or to reduce adverse population impacts
Providing imperiled species-specific scientific support to state and
local governments for planning purposes
Providing scientific support for permit reviews
Coordination with researchers and species management experts to develop
and evaluate management plans, and
Coordination of survey and monitoring needs with the Florida Fish and
Wildlife Institute
