Get Started Deer Hunting

 Deer in a Field

Deer hunting is a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors and spend time with friends and family. And, when knowledge, skills and luck come together for a successful hunt, there’s a healthy and delicious wild game meal to enjoy.

It’s also affordable. All you need to deer hunt is a gun or bow, a treestand or ground blind, and land to hunt on – and Florida is blessed to have nearly 6 million acres of public hunting land. Plus, we provide free options for learning about firearms safety, deer hunting tips, and conservation at one of Florida's hunter safety courses. And, when you buy your hunting license and related permits you’ll be giving back to conservation by contributing to the management of our native wildlife and their habitats.

Here’s what you need to know to get started!
