  Go Fishing Tag
The "Go Fishing" bass tag is sold at Florida County Tax Collectors' Offices. This specialty license plate is available for your vehicle or trailer and helps support fish and wildlife conservation throughout Florida. The cost is $27 more than a regular plate, of which $25 goes to fund projects managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for fish and wildlife management.

You can now also pick up a gift certificate for the "Go Fishing" tag at your local tax collector that will allow your family or friends to upgrade to this tag when they renew.

The plate was designed by Scott Hiestand, an artist with the "Orlando Sentinel." It shows Florida's official state freshwater fish, the largemouth bass, in a natural eel-grass bed with a redear sunfish and bluegill.

Sarasota tag office promotes the "Go Fishing" tag and free t-shirt offer.

It can be personalized with up to five characters. To reserve a unique personalized identity for your plate, contact your local tax collector.

The bass tag has proven to be by far the most popular of the tags designed in 1997. As of January 2001, it had sold more than all seven of the other 1997 year-class tags combined and provided more than a million dollars for fish and wildlife conservation. As of January 2004, more than $3 million has been collected to help.  Current statistics are maintained by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Even more importantly, now that marine and freshwater fish are combined in one agency with wildlife, including game, non-game and threatened species, funds from sale of the "go fishing" tag will benefit all of Florida's fish and wildlife.
