Unique Silect Auction for Florida Osceola Turkey Hunt
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla, -- (January 27, 1998) - Sportsmen who have always wanted to hunt the pure Osceola wild turkey in Florida have an opportunity to participate in a unique silent auction for a $2,000 trip package that includes turkey and wild hog hunting on a private ranch near Big Cypress Swamp on the western edge of the Florida Everglades. The package also includes a guided bass fishing trip on nearby Lake Trafford, an airboat eco-tour, three nights lodging, meals, and all licenses.
Written bids will be accepted by mail or fax until midnight, February 15, 1998. You can take the trip during spring gobbler season which opens March 7 and ends April 12, but the actual dates are negotiable. Transportation between the ranch and the Southwest Regional Airport, Ft. Myers, Florida is also provided. Minimum bid is $700.
The silent auction has been organized to raise matching funds for environmental restoration of Lake Trafford, one of South Florida’s major lunker bass lakes. You’ll hunt turkey until 1 p.m. each day, then have afternoons available for your choice of hog hunting, fishing, airboating or photo safari. There will be only one winner but the high bidder may bring a guest for an additional fee as explained in the official rules .
