KIDS FISHING DAY IN PANAMA CITY BEACH APRIL 27
Kids 15 years of age and younger are invited to participate in a free Kids
Fishing Day in Panama City Beach on April 27.
The event will be held at Frank Brown Park on Back Beach Road from 8 am -
noon. The lake where the kids will be fishing is 3.5 acres in size and stocked
with channel catfish, sunshine bass and shellcracker. Pre-registration is not
necessary.
Panama City Beach plans to open the lake to fishing after the kids fishing
event to children 15 years of age or younger and adults who take a child
fishing. The bag limits adopted by the city are: channel catfish, 6 per day;
sunshine bass, 6 per day; and shellcracker, 20 per day. All largemouth bass must
be released unharmed.
A parent or guardian is asked to attend the event with their kids.
Recommended items include rods-and-reels or cane pole, bait (chicken livers,
shrimp or wigglers), cooler and lawn chairs. However, no one will be allowed to
fish with any multiple hooks, such as treble hooks.
Sponsors for the event are the Panama City Beach Department of Parks and
Recreation, Panama City Beaches Chamber of Commerce and Florida Fish and
Wildlife Conservation Commission.
