FREE FISHING WEEKEND JUNE 6 AND 7

If you have friends or family coming in to town this weekend and you want to go fishing, there’s no better time.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has designated June 6 and 7 as Free Fishing Weekend in Florida. During the two-day period, anyone, including non-residents, can fish with recreational gear for sport fish in any public freshwater lake or river in Florida without a fishing license.

The free fishing weekend culminates National Fishing Week May 30 - June 7. During Free Fishing Weekend all other laws and regulations will remain in effect.

The Florida Legislature first authorized the FWC in 1989 to designate up to two free fishing days each year.
