FLORIDA OUTDOOR WRITERS HONOR LAKE WORTH MAN
WEST PALM BEACH--Frank Morello, 52, of Lake Worth was recently honored with a “Life Membership” in the Florida Outdoor Writers Association (FOWA). He is the Everglades regional fisheries biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), based at the agency's West Palm Beach office.
Over the years Frank has contributed a number of feature stories to Florida Wildlife Magazine and other outdoor publications. He has been a FOWA member since 1983, and serves as the group's liaison with the FWC. For the past nine years, he has been FOWA's treasurer.
Only 17 members have been presented with the prestigious “Life Membership” award. Past honorees include some of the most respected outdoor writers in the state including Herb Allen and Bill Sargent. FOWA has more than 300 members.
The “Life Membership” is awarded as “a gesture of respect and gratitude in recognition of outstanding contributions to the work and success of FOWA.” Morello has worked as a FWC fisheries biologist for 25 years.
He and his wife, Cathy, reside at 9101 Palamino Road, Lake Worth.
