Basic overview | Summer Camp Registration
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is offering summer day-camp programs for youth ages ten to fifteen who are interested in hunting and other related outdoor activities at Hard Labor Creek Plantation, Chipley and Camp Timpoochee, Niceville.
During hunt camp, youth have the opportunity to earn their hunter safety certification and learn about Florida's great hunting heritage. Wildlife identification, survival, wilderness first aid, treestand safety, conservation, stewardship, laws and ethics are just a few of the topics that are covered during hunt camp. Hunt camp participants spend extensive time on the ranges learning gun safety, safe loading and unloading of firearms as well as shooting. Shotguns, rifles and muzzleloaders are used during hunt camp. Campers also learn how to use various game calls and get the opportunity to make their own game call.
