This sandbar hosts hundreds of nesting shorebirds. It is also an important stopover site for migrating and wintering species. When posted, the island is closed to all vessel landings.


FWC Facts:
Prescribed burns help prevent more serious wildfires and are good for wildlife such as white-tailed deer.
