A. GROUP CAMP: Enter at the Prairie Lakes gate* off Canoe Creek Road (Hwy 523). Travel approx. 1 mile South to Road 19 and turn right. The campsite is approx. one quarter mile down road 19 on the North side of the road. This site is the only one with a fire ring with seating. Good campsite for larger groups. B. PARKER HAMMOCK CAMP: Enter at the Prairie Lakes gate* off Canoe Creek Road (Hwy 523). Travel South approx. 1.5 miles to the Parker Hammock parking area (just before the bridge). Follow the Florida Trail** West (beyond the parking area) approx. 50 yards to the campground sign. The campsite is approx. 100 yards off the Florida Trail to the North. Maximum occupancy at this site is 10. C. DRY POND CAMP: Enter at the Prairie Lakes gate* off Canoe Creek Road (Hwy 523). Travel South approx. 1.8 miles to Boat Ramp Road. Travel Boat Ramp Road to the parking area at Lake Jackson. Follow the marker signs to the Florida Trail.** The campsite is 0.5 miles West along the Florida Trail.** The only access to this campsite is by foot. Note: You must use Lake Jackson parking area - no other parking is permitted. D. LAKE JACKSON CAMPGROUND (Sites #1, 2, and 3): Enter at the Prairie Lakes gate* off Canoe Creek Road (Hwy 523). Travel South approx. 1.8 miles to Boat Ramp Road. Travel Boat Ramp Road to the parking area at Lake Jackson. Follow signs to the designated campsites. All of these sites are approx. 100 yards from the parking area. Pitcher pumps are not available at these sites, and all three sites share one toilet (located at the boat ramp). Note: You must use Lake Jackson parking area - no other parking is permitted. Lake Jackson Site 3 is a good site to use during the wet season (there is a high spot to camp on). Lake Jackson 2 is the first site on the left near boat ramp. *Use the gate that specifically says “Prairie Lakes”. There is another entrance that says Three Lakes - do not use this entrance. ** The Florida Trail is marked by bright orange painted markers on the trees at approximately eye level.
