The Florida Legislature approved $5,000,000
in grant funding to marinas that provide public access to
waterways to assist with recovery from damages caused by the
2004 hurricanes, Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne.
Eligible program participants include
publicly and privately owned marinas that provide public
access to Florida’s waterways and suffered documented
damages during the 2004 hurricane season. Marinas must be
located in a county designated a disaster area by an
Emergency Executive Order.
Program funds may be used to cover uninsured
losses including the following:

Costs to repair or rebuild marina facilities

Costs to repair or replace damaged equipment
-
Reimbursement for insurance deductibles
-
Costs for debris removal
