Commissioner Gary Nicklaus

Gary NicklausGary Nicklaus is on the Board of the Nicklaus Companies, which is engaged in the marketing and licensing of the Nicklaus brand, as well as golf course design and investment in real estate, since 2009. Prior to that he was the Managing Director of Nicklaus Companies and the Founder and President of Nicklaus Investments.

Mr. Nicklaus spent his first several years with the Nicklaus family of companies focusing on real estate investment opportunities, primarily investing in high-quality residential-resort communities around the world which featured Nicklaus Design courses as their centerpiece.

Mr. Nicklaus was Founder, Chairman and CEO of Guggenheim Nicklaus Partners, a real estate investment firm. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Camden Capital, and is on the Board of Nicklaus Brown, LLC, NearShore Technology, and Armada Backup Systems. These companies cover a wide variety of sectors including Wealth Management, Medical Technology, and Cloud Computing.

From 1991 through 2003 Mr. Nicklaus played golf professionally on the PGA Tour and other world golf tours. He regained his amateur status in 2006 and competes occasionally in various Amateur events around South Florida. Mr. Nicklaus is also an accomplished golf course designer, with courses in the United States and abroad, including Arizona, Missouri, New York, Wales, Mexico and Spain.

Mr. Nicklaus was on the board of the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida. He is Co-Chairman of the Children’s Healthcare Charity, Inc. a non-profit organization which manages the operations of the Honda Classic and is the primary beneficiary of the tournament. The Honda Classic is a top event on the PGA Tour and has been voted the premier sporting event in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Mr. Nicklaus received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a Major in Finance, from the Ohio State University, where he as an All-American Golfer his senior year.
