This meeting is open to the public

The sole purpose of this meeting is to provide a forum for Commissioners to discuss the agency's ongoing response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.   The Commission will not be taking action on specific regulatory issues.

All interested individuals may speak at workshops or meetings of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) within the guidelines established by the Commission.  To ensure the public's opportunity to be heard and the orderly conduct of the meeting, the Chairman reserves the right to establish a time for adjournment of the workshop or meeting, to limit the time for speakers, and to limit the time allotted for specific agenda items.

6. Overview of U.S. Coast Guard Sectors, Incident Command Structure and Florida's Emergency Operations Center.
7. Summary of FWC response efforts - Use of FWRI geographic information systems mapping, pre-impact sampling, natural resource damage assessment, FWC staff deployments and other support.
8. Characteristics of oil that may reach Florida waters and shorelines, preventative measures, the effects on Florida's fisheries, and wildlife including how we would handle oiled wildlife and potential impact to wildlife habitats.
9. Marine fisheries issues - Areal fisheries closures, communication with stakeholders and federal management partners, economic relief options for fishers
