Red-cockaded Woodpecker (Picoides borealis)Current status is a Species of Special Concern The FWC received a petition to re-evaluate the Red-cockaded Woodpecker in 2001. The woodpecker was evaluated according to the listing process rules and it was determined that the status change from a Threatened species to one of Special Concern was warranted.
