Swine Influenza (novel H1N1)

The Florida Department of Health monitors and keeps records on human health and disease.

The FWC is working with the Florida Department of Health and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to monitor the current swine influenza situation.

Follow health safety precautions provided by the Florida Department of Health online at http://www.doh.state.fl.us/DEMO/php/FluInfo.htm.

Although no cases of swine influenza have been documented in wild hogs (feral swine) in Florida, people who hunt wild hogs or otherwise come into contact with wild hogs should follow standard safety precautions.  Read this FWC news release from Sept. 17, 2008 for details.
