How to Get a Boater Education Identification Card- Take a course approved by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA).
- Submit a letter with your name, date of birth, return address, phone number and proof of completion of the course:

- Or you can take the "How to Boat Smart" correspondence course and follow the directions provided on the test.
- Visitors from out of state who do not have a card issued by their home state can take a Temporary Certificate test.
