Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) | |
Application PeriodJune 2010 (tentative) The Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) is in the process of updating its Program Guidelines for 2010. These revisions are necessary to incorporate federal funding into the program. Because of state budget shortfalls, it may be necessary to fund most, if not all, grants for fiscal year 2010-2011 with federal funding. Therefore, we feel it is in the best interest of the program and the applicants to postpone the application period until these Program Guidelines have been adopted in rule. In order to do this, the changes to the Program Guidelines must be approved by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at its meeting on April 28-29, 2010. As a result, the application period for FBIP will not open until late May or early June. The application period will still be 60 days long and grant awards may be announced in September or October. The Florida Boating Improvement Program provides funding through competitive grants for boating access projects and other boating-related activities on coastal and/or inland waters of Florida.
