Babcock/Webb Shooting Range scheduled for temporary closure November, 5, 2009 The Babcock/Webb Shooting Range will be closed to public use Nov. 30 - Dec. 15 for scheduled improvements and renovations. The range, open to those who want to shoot pistols and rifles, is in the Babcock/Webb Wildlife Management Area, off Tucker Grade Road, just outside Punta Gorda. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission cooperatively make the range available for public use, and planned renovations include paving the parking area and fencing off the range boundaries. |
