Posted October 13, 2009:  The Florida NRCS has announced a deadline of October 30, 2009 for several voluntary conservation programs.  More information is available pdf.

Posted October 12, 2009:  The National Wild Turkey Federation is giving away free mast-producing trees to its members again this year through the Operation Oak Program.  Applications must be submitted by December 1, 2009.  More information and the application are available pdf.

Posted June 22, 2009:  The Florida Division of Forestry will be re-offering the Southern Pine Beetle Prevention Cost-Share Program for non-industrial private forest landowners in 2009.  Applications will be accepted during a sign-up period running July 1 - Aug 12. Program information and application materials are available on the Florida DOF website (www.fl-dof.com, click on the SPB link under "Hot Topics").  Hardcopies of application materials are available at DOF County Forester offices.

Posted December 16, 2008:  Happy Holiday Season!  The 2009 Calendar is now available.   The Florida 2009 Wildlife Habitat Management calendar is now available.  This calendar was created for landowners managing their habitat for wildlife and includes useful tips and monthly reminders.  You can download and print pdf your own copy. Or, while supplies last, you may stop by one of our regional offices to pick up a free calendar by contacting a Scientific Services Regional Coordinator.

Posted July 14, 2008:  Signup for the Southern Pine Beetle Prevention Cost-share Program will open on July 30, 2008.  This program is being offered by the Division of Forestry to non-industrial private forest landowners.  The goal of the program is to minimize southern pine beetle damage in Florida by helping forest landowners reduce the susceptibility of their pine stands to this destructive insect pest.  Please see additional program information and application details at http://www.fl-dof.com/forest_management/fh_insects_spb_prevention_program.html
