The FWC offers 20 hunts on 9 wildlife management areas to those hunters certified mobility-impaired. These hunts are reserved exclusively for mobility-impaired hunters who can't walk, or can't walk without an assisting aid. Having a Resident Disabled Persons Hunting and Fishing Certificate does not make you eligible for mobility-impaired hunts. You must have a physician complete a Mobility-impaired Certification Application and submit the application to the FWC Office of Licensing and Permitting to participate in mobility-impaired hunts. Mobility-impaired is defined as: - Paraplegic
- Hemiplegic
- Quadriplegic
- Permanently dependent upon a wheelchair for ambulation
- Permanently required to use assisting aids to walk
- Permanently required to use braces or prostheses on both legs
- Single-leg above the knee amputation
Applications for mobility-impaired hunts are mailed each year directly to hunters who have been issued a Mobility-impaired Certification Card. Applications are available in mid-May. Permits are issued by random selection from applications received by the FWC June 1-30. Visit our Quota Hunt page for more information. |
